Our Story
Hi, I’m Mila!
I’ve been living in Hong Kong for more than ten years, and it truly feels like home. The bustling streets, the vibrant people, the endless energy—it’s all so special. But what I love most are the unique sounds of Hong Kong, the ones that make this city come alive every single day.
My first book, "Sounds of Hong Kong with Tommy and Lily", was inspired by my two wonderful children, George and Isabella. They adore mimicking the sounds around them: the cheerful "ding-ding" of the trams, the closing doors of the MTR, the playful tune of the ice cream van. And they even start dancing when the sounds feel extra fun! Watching their joy sparked an idea: Why not create a book that introduces little ones to the amazing, unique sounds and beloved places of our Hong Kong?
This interactive sound book is perfect for children aged 1–5 and follows Tommy and Lily—two curious little characters—as they explore some of our family’s favourite spots. I'm beyond happy to share that the book has been a huge success. It's become a bestseller here in Hong Kong, with beautiful hand-painted illustrations and 12 iconic sounds bringing smiles to so many little readers! Encouraged by this wonderful response, I’ve decided to continue the adventures with Tommy and Lily in a whole series of books. We'll be exploring some of our other favourite cities around the world, discovering their unique sounds and special places together.
